Plugin Management

Aethertek Plugin Manager (APM) helps you update installed development plugins using ZIP download links from their publishers.

Install APM

Add https://aethertek.io/x.json to Dalamud's custom plugin repositories, save your settings, and open the Plugin Installer. Search for Aethertek Plugin Manager and install it. Dalamud manages normal APM updates from this repository.

Update a plugin

Start with APM and your target plugin installed in Dalamud. Open APM by typing /apm in chat. Your installed development plugins appear automatically.

  1. Copy the download link. Copy the publisher's direct ZIP link, such as a Discord attachment download link.
  2. Choose the matching plugin. Select the plugin in APM and check I trust the publisher. Only use packages from publishers you trust.
  3. Choose your backup preference. Leave Create backups enabled to keep a recovery copy.
  4. Update from the clipboard. Click the plugin's normal refresh icon or Update selected plugin from clipboard.
  5. Wait for the result. Keep APM enabled until it finishes. A running plugin is unloaded and reloaded automatically; a disabled plugin stays disabled.

APM checks the package and version before disabling the plugin. Read the status message to confirm whether the update completed or was skipped.

Use a matching ZIP

The filename must match the selected plugin. Supported examples are PluginName.zip, PluginName-0.0.0.1.zip, and PluginName-v0.0.0.1.zip. A version in the filename must agree with the package.

Copy a direct file URL, rather than a release page or Discord message link. A generic filename such as latest.zip is not accepted by the clipboard updater; ask the publisher for a ZIP named for the plugin.

Already patched to this version
The installed version matches. No update is needed and the plugin stays running. Enable Overwrite to reinstall that same version.
Older versions
Downgrades are always blocked, including when Overwrite is enabled. Follow the publisher's fresh-install instructions if you need to return to an older version.

Organize your plugin list

Refresh plugin list
Refresh the list after adding or changing installed plugins. Enlarge the APM window to see more rows.
Hide / Show hidden plugins
Use a row's hide checkbox to remove it from view. Enable Show hidden plugins to find it again and clear its hide checkbox.
Hide directories
Hide folder paths in the table and destination display before taking screenshots. This only changes the display; installation locations and logs are unchanged.
Add public plugins
Search installed public plugins and select which ones appear alongside your development plugins. Their normal update controls are disabled: continue using Dalamud for normal public-plugin updates.

Settings

Create backups
Enabled by default. Keeps backups in a timestamped backups folder beside the updated plugin's installed DLL. With this off, temporary recovery files are removed after a successful update or rollback; failed recovery or cleanup may leave files for recovery.
Overwrite
Allows reinstalling the current version only. It never permits an older version.
Open on plugin load
Opens the APM window automatically when APM loads.
Advanced options
Additional controls for use when instructed by your publisher.

Your selections and settings are remembered across reloads.

If an update does not work

Download failed
Copy a fresh direct ZIP link and try again. Discord attachment links can expire.
Package rejected
Check that the selected plugin matches the ZIP filename and that the package contains the intended version. Use the publisher's original package.
Update control unavailable
Check the trust checkbox and your selected plugin. Public plugins use Dalamud for normal updates, and APM cannot update itself while running.
Installation failed
Read APM's status message. Open /xllog and search for [APM] for details to share with support.
